Controversy continues over suspension of the Reggaeton Beach Festival in the Amarilla Golf urbanization, in San Miguel de Abona, after the southern city council did not authorize its celebration, alleging security reasons.
The Consistory “regretted” yesterday the suspension of the macro-concert, but insisted that the “priority” is to ensure the safety of people. “We would have liked a show of this impact to be held in the municipality, and until the last moment the documentation presented the day before by the organization was being evaluated, but it did not comply with the provisions of the law on public activities and shows in the Canary Islands. and lacked the authorizations of the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (TO THAT)”, municipal sources reiterated to this newspaper.
For its part, from the organization of the Reggaeton Beach Festival, the cancellation is attributed to the “animosity” towards the festival on the part of the San Miguel town hall.
The organizers reported through a statement that “after learning that the City Council of San Miguel de Abona has allowed mass events to take place on several occasions without the corresponding license, we see clearly that they have acted in bad faith by leaking technical reports with erroneous information.”
Likewise, the company promoting the festival has advanced that “it reserves the right to exercise the corresponding actions, both civil and criminal, for the damages caused both to the organization of the event and to third parties.”
The celebration of the festival was scheduled for yesterday and 20,000 tickets had been sold that the organization has announced that it will reimburse.
