Tenerife Intercity Transport (titsa), a company of the Cabildo de Tenerife, tests two new buses 12- and 18-meter electric vehicles, provided by the manufacturer Irizar, over the next few weeks. It will be from August 8 when they are analyzed on lines with passengers, until then they are being carried out without load.
The first vice president of the Cabildo and president of Titsa, Enrique Arriaga, stressed that this initiative aims to measure the autonomy, power and performance of the vehicles in some of the company’s lines. This trial period “allows us to assess the performance of these vehicles on interurban and urban lines in order to determine the technical characteristics of future vehicle purchases and continue taking steps to achieve more sustainable public transport on the Island,” said the Also Mobility Counselor.
For his part, the insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, added that “it is necessary to carry out these tests to also know the needs of the electrical recharging infrastructures in the company’s facilities, as well as the maintenance associated with them” .
