Canary Islands accumulates 21 deaths of patients with coronavirus in the last three days, that is, since last Tuesday, today the Ministry of Health of the Regional Executive. 14 of the deaths have been reported in Gran Canaria and seven in Tenerife. All people with ages between 68 and 94 yearshad previous pathologies and were hospitalized.
The Ministry of Health, following the new indicators included in the Surveillance and Control Strategy for COVID-19, agreed by the Ministry of Health with the autonomous communities, also indicates that since last Tuesday they have been registered in the Archipelago 803 new positives in COVID-19 among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is followed up after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.
Therefore, the accumulated cases of coronavirus among this group amounts to 92,085 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 891.15 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 341.60. Since last July 8, a sustained decrease in the cumulative incidence at 7 days has been observed, when we reached 913 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 383 people admitted with coronavirusof which 30 are in the ICU and the rest, 353, on the ward.
