SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 28. (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 50-year-old woman is in serious condition after suffering a near drowning when she was on La Hornilla beach, in the municipality of Candelaria (Tenerife), as reported by the Canary Islands 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Center.
The events occurred around 12:10 p.m. this Thursday on the aforementioned beach, from where some bathers had pulled a person with signs of drowning from the water. Later, members of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) appeared at the scene, and upon reaching the area they verified that the affected woman was in cardiorespiratory arrest.
They then began to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, with which they managed to recover her, and after stabilizing her, they transferred her in a medicalized ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria.
In the resolution of the incident, members of the beach service participated, as well as agents of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, who instructed the corresponding proceedings.
