The forest fire declared a week ago in the north of Tenerife and that affects five municipalities: La Orotava, Los Realejos, San Juan de la Rambla, La Guancha and Icod de los Vinoshas gone from level 2 to 1, so the Cabildo de Tenerife once again assumes control of the emergency.
This decision was made at the Infoca coordination meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Science and Innovation, Diana Morant; the president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres; the Minister of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, Julio Pérez; the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, among others.
The president of the Canary Islands reported at the press conference after the Infoca meeting that the fire has remained stable throughout today and all the evacuees have been able to return to their homes. He also added that the current situation of the fire allows the withdrawal of air and land resources of the State and the Government of the Canary Islands and the extinction tasks will be assumed by means of the Cabildo.
