The Tenerife fire that last Thursday began in the north of the island, and that it was probably provoked, has entered a stabilization phase, the president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, said this Monday, after the technical coordination meeting of the means of extinction .
Ángel Víctor Torres has insisted that considering the fire as stabilized means that after last night’s work the affected hectares have not increased, 2,700, nor the perimeter, 27 kilometres.
The fire started in the area of Los Campeches, in the municipality of The Realejosand the flames also affect the municipalities of San Juan de la Rambla, Icod de los Vinos and La Guancha.
Regarding its origin, Ángel Víctor Torres has pointed out that it is possible that the technicians will be able to access the point where the fire started this Monday.
The president of the Canary Islands has declared that the fire remains at alert level 2, and has insisted that stabilization does not mean that the fire cannot be reactivated.

The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, recalled that the prohibition of carrying out any activity in the mountains of the entire island continues, and explained that last night it was necessary to activate a rescue device because three hikers did not respect the prohibition.
