The Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias hosted last weekend the pilgrimage dinner and the Dance of Magi and Fishermen within the framework of the patron saint festivities of Santa Ana and El Carmen.
With the occupation of the 200 available tables and the attendance of more than 4,000 magicians and fishermen, the meeting took place in a festive atmosphere enlivened by performances by Pepe Benavente and the Maquinaria Band and Maracaibo orchestras.
It should be remembered that the Dance of Magicians and Fishermen was moved to the Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias in order to accommodate a greater number of people, since the current regulations prevent the capacity of tables and the capacity previously established in the Plaza de Santa Ana, reduced to a maximum of 1,500 people compared to the capacity of 5,000 people offered by a much larger space such as the Plaza de la Patrona.
In this sense, the Dance of Magicians and Fishermen has been the second largest that has been held in the municipality, after last Canary Islands Day, in which the 5,000 tickets available to the public were sold.
The acts of the patron saint festivities continued throughout the day yesterday, with a performance by the Lanzarote humorist Kike Pérez in the Plaza de Santa Ana, where a large audience gathered.
Today it will be the turn of the little ones, with the activities planned for Children’s Day, on Juan El Cape Pescador street, where the City Council of Candelaria has installed bouncy castles, fairground games, races, sugar carts, a workshop of balloon twisting and elaboration of salt carpets. To end the day, the show of superheroes and dinosaurs will be held, the Consistory reported.
