The forest fire declared last Thursday in Tenerife, which affects the municipalities of Los Realejos, San Juan de la Rambla and La Guanchacontinues without control and the affected area has increased to almost 2,000 hectares, with a perimeter of about 20 kilometers.
This has been reported by the Minister of Public Administrations, Justice and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands, Julius Perezwho this morning led a new coordination meeting to monitor the fire extinction tasks.
The counselor has indicated that today the situation “is worse than we wanted and expected, especially because of the weather, which has been less favorable than we had anticipated and desired”, which has produced “an increase in the area affected”.
