The advance of the fire in Tenerife forces the eviction of fifty homes in the municipality of Los Realejos to begin this Saturday noon. According to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands, A preventive evacuation is being carried out in the Las Llanadas area, from the Chanajiga recreational area to the upper area of Las Llanadas -for the moment it does not affect the population center- and the Palo Blanco ravine, in the municipality of Los Realejos.
The Minister of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, Julio Pérez, reported this morning at a press conference that wind changes during the night had made extinction tasks difficult and that the area had increased to 2,000 hectares, with an approximate perimeter of 20 kilometers. The fire has not entered the Valle de La Orotava, but it has in the western area of Icod de los Vinos, so there are already four municipalities affected by the forest fire in Tenerife, along with Los Realejos, San Juan de la Rambla and La Guancha.
Pérez also stated that during the day the ground and air operation would be reinforced over the area, with 170 troops and 12 aerial means, trusting that the haze will not hinder their exit, in addition to incorporating the urban firefighters, from the Tenerife Consortium, into the device. , in populated nuclei preventively.
