SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of the Canary Islands has approved this Thursday to allocate an item of 6.5 million euros to the municipalities to finance the continuity and development of the ‘Childhood and Family Care Program’ during the year 2022, which represents almost 700,000 euros more than in 2021.
By means of this financing, the Canarian Executive, through the Ministry of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth, and specifically the General Directorate for the Protection of Children and the Family, contributes to the economic support of the municipal care programs for childhood, adolescence and family.
The municipal Child and Family Care programs are specialized municipal services whose purpose is the prevention of risk factors.
At the same time, they offer families tools with which to face situations of vulnerability, in order to guarantee the integral development and adequate growth of minors and the adolescent population, collects a note from the Executive.
These municipal programs are articulated through the municipal Child and Family Care teams and the Day Centers or Services. These resources are intended to encourage all family members to acquire the basic skills and behavioral habits necessary to overcome the situation of crisis, risk or vulnerability.
This means supporting the family system to reduce the risk indicators detected and encourage protectors, thus ensuring adequate care for minors, covering their physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs.
