The president of the Popular Party in Tenerife and mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, calls for better services and infrastructure in the south of the island, given the increase in recent years in the population throughout the region, which, he underlines, has aggravated the problems in terms of housing, health and transport.
This was made clear during a lunch-colloquium organized by the Forum of Friends of the South of Tenerife (FAST), in which the insular leader of the PP was in favor, in economic and tourist matters, of creating a management office destined to the Next Generation Funds for a better optimization of these resources.
In addition, Navarro considered “fundamental” to create a circular movement between the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors, and called for a simplification of bureaucracy, as well as a reduction in taxes.
The South train was another issue that was debated among the attendees, but the AENA project to build a new terminal at the South airport, the situation of discharges or future infrastructures such as the port of Fonsalía was also reviewed , in the municipality of Guía de Isora.
Before lunch, the president of the Association of Athletes Without Borders, Juan Jesús Aguiar, spoke and announced this new initiative in the south of Tenerife, which aims to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities through sport and culture.
