SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Governing Council approved this Thursday the decree that provides for the dismissal of Luis Ortigosa and the appointment of Alberto Brito as a member of the Social Council of the University of La Laguna (ULL), representing the social interests of the Associations of Former Students of the University.
The Law on Social Councils and Coordination of the University System of the Canary Islands provides that the appointment of the members of the Social Council will be made by agreement of the Government of the Canary Islands, at the proposal of the competent counselor in matters of education, in accordance with the appointment made by the Council Government of the University and the corresponding institutions, entities, organizations or groups, which will be published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands.
In addition, it establishes that the representation of social interests will be verified through 22 members appointed among personalities from cultural, professional, economic, labor and social life, including a representative proposed by the Associations of Former Students of the University.
