More than 200 troops are part of the extinguishing device for the fire declared this morning in the area of The Campechesin the municipal terms of Los Realejos and San Juan de la Ramblain Tenerife, which at five in the afternoon was estimated to affect more than 110 hectares of scrubland and pine forests, with a perimeter that exceeds five kilometers.
The tireless work of the different emergency resources has been applauded, how could it be otherwise, by users on the different social networks. One of those troops deployed on the ground indicated, in one of the numerous videos that have circulated this afternoon on the main instant messaging platforms, that “this is hell here, there is no one to stop it.”
During today’s session, a total of ten aerial means are operating: two from the Cabildo, three from the Government of the Canary Islands and four aerial means from the Ministry (MITECO), in addition to the Civil Guard helicopter acting as aerial coordinator with the General Directorate of the Government from the Canary Islands
In the tasks of extinction by land, firefighting troops from the Cabildo de Tenerife participate; Firefighters Consortium; EIRIF teams from the Government of the Canary Islands based in La Gomera; the BRIF brigades of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO); Military Emergency Unit (UME); security agents of the Local Police, State Security Forces and Corps (Civil Guard and National Police) and General Corps of the Canarian Police; as well as means of Civil Protection, the Canary Islands Emergency Service and the Spanish Red Cross.
