SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands in its session this Thursday has accepted the delegation of the City Council of San Bartolomé (Lanzarote) of the competence for the simplified strategic evaluation of the provisional municipal ordinance for the construction of a health center in the surroundings of Playa Sling.
Thus, the approval, substantial modification and adaptation of the territorial, environmental and urban planning instruments are subject to the environmental evaluation procedure of plans and programs, in the terms contemplated in the basic state legislation and in Law 4/2017, of 13 July, of the Soil and of the Protected Natural Spaces of the Canary Islands.
Autonomous instruments of this nature are the responsibility of the body designated by the Government of the Canary Islands, while in the case of municipal instruments it will be the one that the City Council may designate, if it has sufficient resources, and may delegate this competence to the environmental body. or the insular environmental body of the island to which it belongs, or set up an environmental body jointly with other municipalities.
In municipalities with less than 100,000 inhabitants, the environmental assessment of the structural urban planning of the general planning plans, as well as in cases of their substantial modification, will correspond to the regional environmental body.
