The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Insular Society for the Promotion of Persons with Disabilities, Sinpromi, has made an online space available to citizens with updated information on the 26 accessible beaches on the island that belong to 15 municipalities.
Specifically, they are found in Adeje, Arico, Arona, Candelaria, Garachico, Granadilla, Guía de Isora, Güimar, Icod de los Vinos, Puerto de la Cruz, La Laguna, Santiago del Teide, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Los Realejos, El Rosario and Tacoronte.
The objective of this space is to enable everyone to visit and enjoy it, with special attention to those with mobility difficulties.
The information, which has been contrasted with the town councils, also refers to the services offered by the different bathing areas and can be consulted by entering the ‘News’ section of the website www.sinpromi.esdetails the Cabildo in a note.
In addition, it has information on the days of the week and times, in which the bathroom support service is provided, as well as their contact telephone numbers.
The third vice-president and island councilor for Social Action, Marián Franquet, highlights “the work on accessibility carried out by the Cabildo, through Sinpromi, contributing to a change in the conception of environments, products and services, to guarantee the exercise of the rights of people with disabilities and improve the quality of life of all people”.
Along these lines, he emphasizes “the supervision and advice work carried out by Sinpromi to, in this case, facilitate access to and enjoyment of the island’s beaches and coastal areas, as well as the adaptation of the services they offer, to that can be used by all people”.
