CC denounces the elimination of scholarships for FP, Baccalaureate and University

The municipal group of the Canarian Coalition (CC) in the Guia de Isora City Council denounces “the elimination, by the local government of the PSOE, of scholarships for high school, vocational training and university students in the municipality.” The nationalists affirm that “after two courses without having called for study aid, the socialist government of Guía de Isora turns its back on the students.” CC adds that “in the call that the Consistory has issued, only the student body of Infant, Primary and ESO Education can apply for this scholarship.”

For the nationalists, the elimination of these scholarships “represents a real blow to families whose children are in higher education, the cost of which is increasing, and now find themselves without that aid for the acquisition of material, transfers or rental housing, since that many study outside the municipality».

The Canary Coalition has been demanding for more than two years the call for scholarships for all educational stages. «Thanks to our pressure, we have managed to convene, at least, those corresponding to the Infant, Primary and ESO stages».

However, CC points out, “the mayor, the socialist Josefa Mesa, without counting on the Municipal School Council, and unilaterally, has decided to eliminate an economic item that we understand is a priority for the students of the municipality, even more so when they have increased spending in trusted personnel.
