SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 16. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, has announced an agreement to launch the drafting of a new project, based on enabling an underground passage at the height of Barranco Ruiz and its execution, to definitively solve the problem of the access to the TF-21 from the neighborhood of La Rambla, in the municipality of San Juan de la Rambla.
This commitment, which was expressed in a meeting with the representatives of the La Rambla Platform and the mayor of the northern municipality, Ezequiel Domínguez, “will solve a historic demand from the neighbors who have denounced security problems at the accesses to the Island Institution. to the population core,” said the president.
“For months we have been looking for an alternative to give entrance and exit to the core of La Rambla”, said Pedro Martín, who admitted that the reports they have received from the highway technicians “were unfavorable to any proposed solution, such as putting some small boulevard , not to make a discontinuous line that would allow changes of direction; in short, there was no simple solution to apply to the layout of the current highway,” he said.
For this reason, Martín pointed out, “we present a new, totally different proposal, which consists of carrying out a work with an underground pass that runs under the road and that allows safe entry and exit in both directions to definitively solve the problem of this population center”
In the president’s opinion, “this proposal will be more expensive and will take longer to execute, but we are already working from the Highways area to put out the drafting of the project and, once we have it, we reiterate our commitment to bidding for the works.
“I am confident that in the coming months we can have a company to which we have awarded the drafting of the project and then have a document that we can put in the hands of the City Council so that it has the guarantee of having a solution for this historic problem,” he concluded. President.
