CC-PNC in the Cabildo requests to know “officially” the “expenditure of the promotion and presentation of the Motor Circuit” located in Atogo (Granadilla de Abona). The counselor Verónica Meseguer will ask in the plenary commission on Friday 22 for “the amount that the PSOE and Ciudadanos allocate to this initiative” whose inauguration is announced for Tuesday. She reminds Meseguer that “the works are still stopped” and that Pedro Martín and Enrique Arriaga “have breached the agreement with Federations, the Royal Automobile Club of Tenerife (RACT) and political groups by not convening the monitoring table, as promised.”
Meseguer asks in the plenary committee on Sustainability, Roads, Innovation and Culture “how much money the promotion of infrastructure represents for the Cabildo and its companies.” Meseguer points out that “the signing of an agreement with DORNA for the promotion of the Circuit and the presentation of the project in the Auditorium was recently announced.” He points out: «We want to know how much money that costs, especially since the Circuit is already known and there is nothing new. In fact, the works are still stopped – they should have been completed in May 2021 – and neither the second phase of the north access nor the works of the enclosure have been tendered ».
Meseguer stresses that “the plenary session of May 27 approved the creation of a monitoring commission for the Motor Circuit, but the PSOE and Ciudadanos have breached the agreement and have not convened it.” He considers that “they hide the information and that is why we officially request it.” In addition, he adds, “we demand that the table be convened immediately because all the political groups and the Automobile, Motorcycle and RACT Federations have the right to know what is happening with the Motor Circuit.”
The motion approved last May establishes that all the political groups must be in the monitoring commission of the Motor Circuit, as well as representatives of different groups. The first meeting was to be held on July 1, “something that the PSOE and Cs have failed to comply with” according to CC.
