SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 16. (EUROPE PRESS) –

A 50-year-old woman has been injured after suffering an accident while rappelling in the El Batán ravine, in the municipality of La Laguna, in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 .

The event occurred around 10:20 a.m., when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert informing that a woman had fallen from a height when she was rappelling and needed health care, for which the Cecoes activated the necessary emergency resources immediately.

Rescuers from the GES helicopter accessed the place where the affected woman was and gave her first aid. Once immobilized, she was hoisted onto a nest stretcher and evacuated to Tenerife North Airport.

SUC personnel assisted the affected woman upon her arrival at the airport and transferred her to the Ntra. Sra. de Candelaria University Hospital as she presented various moderate injuries, with the exception of complications.

Members of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium traveled to the accident site and carried out support tasks for the GES helicopter in the rescue tasks.
