The plenary’s rejection of Arona to create a structure to promote public housing, with the votes against CC, CxA, the critical socialist councilors and the non-attached councilor Luis García, has caused a new clash between the local government and the opposition.
After CC yesterday issued a statement in which it underlined its commitment to public housing and recalled that in seven years “not a single house has been built”, the Government group reacted with another letter in which it put as example of the policy practiced by the CC at the head of the City Council, the construction of a building in La Camella “whose license was granted by this party on private land that was not received, which ended with an abandoned building, which cannot be recovered, and in the payment of a sentence of 2.7 million euros to Visocan”, entity that built the houses.
“The fiasco of the La Camella building is one of the sentences that it has had to face in recent years Arona for unfulfilled agreements inherited from the Canarian Coalition stage, the total amount of which has risen to more than 10 million euros, which have come out of the pockets of the neighbors”, was indicated from the municipal government, which is chaired by José Julián Mena.
