Arrested in San Andrés one of the most wanted criminals in Tenerife

The National Police has reported the arrest of a 39-year-old man who resides in the San Andrés area, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, who is one of the most wanted alleged criminals on the island, with 33 records for robberies with force and with violence.

A search and arrest warrant for illegal detention and threats with a knife and robbery with force weighed on him. Once arrested, the judicial authority has decreed his entry into prison, where he has already spent several years, according to the National Police.

His latest arrest was in connection with the theft of a rental car and threats against the car company employee who came to help him and another individual when they had an accident.

According to the police report, the two had stolen a rental vehicle, several electronic devices and various documents and credit cards in the south of Tenerife.

When they were heading towards the capital of Tenerife, they suffered an accident that forced them to contact the rental company, although they refused to give personal data, and demanded the replacement of the damaged vehicle.

An employee of the rental company appeared at the scene of the accident, where he was rebuked by the two individuals, and agreed to take them in his car to a company office to give them another car.

They introduced a series of objects such as electric scooters and electronic devices into the employee’s vehicle, which made him suspect that they were stolen.

During the journey, the co-pilot pulled out a punch and threatened the rental company employee to take them to the Santa Clara area, where he got out and took the effects.

Later, the employee went with the other individual to the rental company’s premises, where while he threatened and demanded another vehicle, the National Police was notified.

The agents arrested the man who was in the premises, who seized numerous documents and objects that were returned to their owners.

The Police found out the identity of the other subject, established a specific control and was located days later by a patrol.

When he was intercepted, he refused to be identified, began a struggle trying to get hold of the service weapon of one of the members of the patrol car and was subdued and handcuffed after assaulting both police officers.

During the transfer to the police station, the detainee threatened the police officers and caused damage to the vehicle.
