SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 14. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has rejected the appeal filed by the non-attached councilor of La Laguna, Alfredo Gómez, against the file of the complaint presented to the president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Gustavo Matos, for the alleged crimes of prevarication , bribery, interested management and embezzlement of public funds for some works carried out in your home.
The order, made public this Thursday, stresses that the complainant has not provided any “objective evidence” to support his “suspicions” of a crime and understands that the action carried out by Matos does not contravene public contract legislation nor has he incurred any abuse of authority or consideration derived from his position.
Gómez maintained in his complaint that the Devicserver company, awarded catering services in the Chamber, had been in charge of carrying out the works in the house, but the Court notes that this company had no contracts in 2022 and that up to seven other companies received amounts higher for the catering.
The general secretariat of the Government of the Canary Islands certifies that there have been no payments from Parliament to Devicserver –the catering was offered through Mifavorita Catering– and it has not been verified that these companies have carried out the works on the property, but rather that it was finally another .
In addition, it establishes that new facts that the plaintiff introduces in the appeal and that are not the subject of the initial claim cannot be judged.
