The Canary Islands end the alert for forest fires waiting for more heat this week

The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of Canary Islands Government will give for Ended at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13 the alert for forest fires in El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

The decision has been adopted based on the information available and in application of the decree approving the Special Plan for Civil Protection and Attention to Forest Emergencies of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands (Infoca).

On the other hand, at six in the afternoon on Tuesday, July 12, the pre-alert situation for maximum temperatures will end, before the mercury rises again on Thursday of this week to exceed 30 degrees in inland areas of both provinces. .

The Canary Islands expect some clouds this Wednesday, especially in the early hours of the day, as well as few changes in temperatures according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

At sea, north or northeast component winds of force 4 or 5 are expected, even 6 in the south, as well as storm surge and strong swell in the Agaete channel and curly or tidal waves in the rest of the points. In addition, there will be a swell from the north with waves of 1 to 2 meters.

LANZAROTE

On the western slope, cloudy skies, tending to cloudy intervals during the morning and slightly cloudy or clear skies in the afternoon. In the rest of the areas, slightly cloudy or clear skies, except for some morning interval. Low probability of light haze in height at the end of the day. Temperatures with little change. North component wind, more intense in the last hours.

Minimum temperatures without changes or in slight decrease, especially in high areas. Highs with few changes, with a slight decrease in the extreme northeast and a slight rise in high peaks. Wind of weak to moderate north component, more intense in the extreme west and the east slope. In summits, southwest tending to strong during the morning, more intense at the end of the day, when a very strong streak is not ruled out. Breezes on west shores.

North component wind, more intense in the extreme west and east. Breezes on southern shores.

Loose to moderate north component wind, more intense in the northwest and southeast extremes. Breezes on west shores.
