The action has a budget of more than €750,000which has been contributed by the Regional Ministry of Education.
García expresses his satisfaction at the start of these works, which will have an execution period of nine months: «These courts had been in disuse for more than six years and in an unfortunate state of abandonment.but today we can already say that next school year our students will be able to enjoy two completely renovated spaces».
“Both from the direction of the center and from the students and their families It had been in demand since 2016 the set-up of this space for the normal development of outdoor sports activities”, highlights the socialist mayor. The president recalls that “since, for security, the fields were closedthe students have had to carry out physical activities on the soccer field that is a few meters away, although to access it it is necessary to cross the main access road to the municipality, with the risk that this entails.
new orientation
One of the first planned actions is the execution of a reinforced concrete wall, as well as the demolition and removal of the affected elements. The current filling of the land will be dismantled in order to obtain a suitable soil for the execution. The two pitches will be rebuilt with a north-south orientation, with two grandstand areas. The upper track will be located on the same line as the lower one, located one level 1.5 meters lower. «With this new arrangement, one of the courts will have larger dimensions, which will allow it to be homologated for sports competitions» he stresses.
have been projected two bleacher areas, one for the upper court using the support of the northeast retaining wall and another of smaller dimensions that will facilitate communication and reduce the impact of the unevenness between the two courts. Also, it will be placed a flexible and resistant pavement for intensive use and the lighting and rainwater collection pipes will be replaced.
The action also contemplates the construction of low slope ramps that will connect both tracks and, in turn, these with the outside. This last connection, which links to the avenue Mencey Bencomo, it will be made wide enough for the regular passage of maintenance vehicles and also to facilitate wheeled access for people with reduced mobility. “Likewise, the amplitude of this auxiliary input It has been designed with the future work on the roof of the main field in mind, so enough space has been left for the trucks with the materials to pass through,” concludes the mayor.
