with this performance El Calvario street will be improved along its entire length (approximately 650 meters), between the intersection with El Cascajal street and up to the junctions, inclusive, with Pedro Juan García Hernández streets and Plaza del Ayuntamiento. To do this, pedestrian routes will be promoted, giving them preference, ordering car parks so that they do not create physical barriers and facilitating the mobility of pedestrians, especially for those with reduced mobility.
To the general beautification of the street is added the renewal of the water supply network and its provision of fire hydrants and hydrants, the execution of new low voltage and telecommunications pipes that allow the burial of said networks and the reorganization and improvement of public lighting.
The mayor stressed that “the final result will be a safer, more comfortable route, adapted to the needs of users and attractivetaking into account that it is the main entrance road to the downtown area of La Esperanza”.

In this sense, they have been projected two continuous pedestrian itineraries and uniform throughout their length, without being abruptly reduced as is the case today. The solution has been based on having one of the accessible routes with a minimum width of 1.80 meters throughout its length.
Also, it is proposed sidewalk pavements and parking lots and roadway on the same grade on the same platform, and the free spaces generated between the car parks and pedestrian crossings are used to locate furniture, garden elements, litter bins, etc.
One of the main actions to be carried out has to do with the Comprehensive renovation of the water supply network on this street that has been designed in such a way as to allow the network to be divided into four independent zones without interruption of the service on the entire road. In addition, it is anticipated installation of accessible furniture such as litter bins, conditioning of bus stops with canopies and planters.
Likewise, the demolition of the surface of the central car parks located at the intersection in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento area will be carried out and intelligent pedestrian crossings will be made.
