The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, in application of the Special Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Attention for Forest Fires of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands (INFOCA), has lowered the maximum alert for forest fires to an alert situation.
Specifically, it refers to the islands of El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
From the Executive they specify that a general decrease in temperatures is expected, which will be notable in the maximum values in large areas of the central islands, although values of 30 or 32ºC may still be exceeded in inland areas and slopes facing south. of the islands.
Likewise, a northerly component wind is expected, more intense on the eastern and western slopes of the islands with greater relief, and a westerly component, locally strong in the highlands of Tenerife.
