SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 9. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies, has updated the alert situation for maximum temperatures and has declared a maximum alert for maximum temperatures in Gran Canaria, which will come into force this Sunday from 12 noon. The rest of the islands remain on alert due to maximum temperatures.
This decision is made taking into account the information available and in application of the Canary Islands Specific Emergency Plan for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA).
The maximum alert situation due to maximum temperatures will affect the midlands of Gran Canaria, especially those facing south and east. The rest of the islands remain on alert according to the initial bulletin.
The population is urged to follow the self-protection advice of the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies.
