The student body with zero quota in the Canary Islands dining room falls by 5% in the last year. The number of Canarian students benefiting from the zero fee in school canteens in the Archipelago was reduced by 5% in the 2021-2022 academic year compared to the previous one, going from 14,928 users of this aid to 14,186 who received it in the course that has just ended, according to data provided by the General Directorate of Centers, Infrastructures and Educational Promotion of the Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands to the nationalist deputy Cristina Valido.

Also, the western province concentrated 51% of the aid granted compared to 49% in the province of Las Palmas.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria had 2,599 beneficiaries last year of the zero fee in school cafeterias, being the municipality with the largest number of users and representing 18% of the total.
