The second edition of ‘Bono Consumption Tenerife’ generates 388,000 euros in sales

The second edition of the ‘Tenerife Consumption Bonus’, which has been carried out between May 16 and June 30, has generated sales for an amount of 388,000 euros in small businesses dedicated to commerce, hospitality and other services, such as hairdressers or gyms.

The programme, managed by the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), dependent on the Council of Tenerifehas allowed increase the sales of many of the companies that have joined.

The Minister of Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, points out in a note the “indisputable success” that this edition of the program has had, “which has allowed businesses to increase their sales and attract new customers.”

Given the good response obtained and the benefits that the initiative has had for small businesses on the island, the minister announced that this year the program will be reissued, with a budget of 300,000 euros, which will translate into sales amounting to €600,000.

“It is very important to be able to contribute from the Cabildo directly to the generation of economic activity in small businesses in the municipalities of Tenerife and, at the same time, help families to acquire products and services, in this case, through discounts. immediate on their purchases,” he says.

Carmen Luz Baso also explains that “a total of 5,680 bonds were acquired, which, with a public investment of 135,000 euros, generated 388,000 euros in sales, which highlights the significant revitalization for trade that this initiative represents.”

The counselor recalls that they have adapted the regulatory rules taking into account the suggestions and proposals of the participating establishments in the first edition and of consumers, so that the ‘Tenerife Consumption Bonus’ “is more attractive for all parties”.

Almost 7 out of 10 member establishments (68.6%) have perceived that thanks to the ‘Tenerife Consumption Bonus’ they have registered an increase in sales and that new consumers have visited the establishment.

Also, more 62% of businesses give the program the highest rating, while 15.7% rate it four out of five.

The main demand of the establishments is, given the success of the program, increase the budget for future editions of the program –the available bonuses sold out in just ten days–.

The main modification of the second edition of the ‘Bono Tenerife’ has been the increase in the value of the vouchers, thus increasing the discounts that consumers can enjoy.

In this sense, bonds with amounts of 10, 30 and 60 euros were put up for sale. In all three cases, the Cabildo de Tenerife pays fifty percent of the value of the voucher, while the other half corresponds to paying it to the consumer.
