The Summer University of Adeje (UVA) focuses this year on the eruption of La Palma and mental health. The traditional appointment, which celebrates its twenty-ninth edition, will take place from 14 to 22. The offer is eleven courses and nine face-to-face workshops in the morning and afternoon.
The UVA looks at the Tajogaite volcano, mental health and emotional well-being, the new employment contracts that emerged after the labor reform approved last year, as well as gender equality or the performing arts, among other issues.
These fully valid issues, along with others such as the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in SMEs, grassroots sports or the management of social services after the pandemic, will be addressed in the programming. The cultural initiative, a benchmark in the Canary Islands, celebrates 29 years of existence. The event is organized by the Vice President for Culture, Social Participation and the Ofra and La Palma Campus of the University of La Laguna and the City Council of Villa de Adeje.
The eleven courses will last three days Among the seminars, which will take place in the morning and afternoon, the eruption of Cumbre Vieja in La Palma 2021 stands out, which will be held from July 20 to 22. Directed by María Candelaria Martín Luis, professor at the Department of Animal Biology, Edaphology and Geology at the University of La Laguna, it focuses on the analysis of the geological context in which the eruption occurred and the dangers derived from the eruptive phenomenon.
The Communication, Loss and Grief and Anthropology of Death seminars, which will be offered from the 18th to the 20th, focus on promoting the construction of knowledge around death, as well as on the mortuary rituals of different societies and cultures. Both will be directed by Alfonso Miguel García Hernández, professor of the Nursing Department of the ULL. They are intended for both the general public and health professionals.
The image is nothing, the story is everything. The leadership of brands in the era of fake news is headed by ULL professors Patricia Delponti and Carmen Rodríguez Wangüemert. It will take place from 20 to 22 and is aimed at professionals from various sectors who wish to learn about the most innovative techniques to focus and adapt their communication strategy to the habits and tastes of the millennial public.
