SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 5. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Since last Friday, the Canary Islands have registered 1,951 new positives in COVID-19 among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is followed up after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.
On the other hand, in the last four days there have been ten deaths, five reported in Gran Canaria and another five in Tenerife. All the people, aged between 69 and 90 years, had previous pathologies and were hospitalized.
The accumulated number of cases of coronavirus among this group amounts to 81,337 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 1,371.86 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 760.93.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 423 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 22 are in the ICU and the rest, 401, on the ward.
