SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 5. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife is going to contract the drafting of the project for the execution of the Tacoronte coastline and the front of the urban area of El Pris, an action in which 180,273 euros will be invested, with which the total remodeling of the environment will be designed.
This was approved this Tuesday by the Island Government Council, at the proposal of the Island Directorate of Tourism, which has established a period of nine months for the delivery of the project, once the contract has been awarded.
The island’s president, Pedro Martín, points out in a note that “once drafted, the project will give rise to an important action on the coast of the municipality of Tacoronte, which will mean a great change, will facilitate public access to the sea and will significantly improve infrastructure and facilities in the area”.
The investment in the execution of the remodeling project could be around five million euros, according to technical estimates.
Pedro Martín explains that, “in general terms, the project will contemplate the conditioning of the entire coastal path that connects the town of Mesa del Mar with that of El Pris, a long-awaited intervention in the municipality, in a coastal area of the island which has a large influx throughout the year and especially in summer, of residents and visitors, and whose tourist attraction is unquestionable, so these projected improvements are going to have a very positive impact”.
For her part, the island’s Director of Tourism, Laura Castro, recalls that “through the ‘Tenerife and the Sea’ project of the MEDI-FDCAN program, the Cabildo carries out important improvements throughout the island’s coastline, with unique actions that have given a total turnaround to coastal areas that, after the intervention, have notably increased their attractiveness and the influx of people who can enjoy them in the best conditions of use”.
Among other actions included in this project, the island director highlights the execution of trails, the improvement of accessibility, the environmental recovery in the area or the provision of urban furniture.
