SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 4. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, endorsed this Monday the stabilization plan that the central government is going to propose this Tuesday in the Council of Ministers and which plans to stabilize more than 67,000 health workers — in the Canary Islands there are more than 12,000 in temporary abuse–.
Speaking to journalists, he commented that this unprecedented initiative should be “applauded” because it means giving “stabilization” to many people who have worked in a “precarious” situation for decades.
He has pointed out, however, that his Government is already “doing it” with the adaptation of the temporary law of the public sector and the fulfillment of the deadlines to carry out all the pertinent tests.
Torres has indicated that the efforts of public workers “must be recognized”, also underlining Spain’s commitment
for a “public, free and universal healthcare” in which any person is treated “regardless of their income”, which supposes a “strength of the welfare state”.
