Adeje hands over the World Donor Day baton to Güímar. The councilor of the Social Services and Health area of the Güímar City Council, José Miguel Hernández Fernández, received the baton from the Canarian Hemodonation and Hemotherapy Institute (ICHH) of the Government of the Canary Islands from the mayor of Adejero, José Miguel Rodrígiuez Fraga, to become the headquarters of the World Blood Donor Day in the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for the year 2023.
The municipality of Adeje was officially chosen by the Canarian Hemodonation and Hemotherapy Institute (ICHH) to host the World Blood Donor Day in the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for the year 2022. In this way, it joined the municipalities that already it had been in previous years: La Laguna (2015), Guia de Isora (2016), Los Realejos (2017), Santa Cruz de La Palma (2018), Granadilla de Abona (2019) and La Orotava (2020-2021). With this accreditation, Adeje assumed the commitment to work in the support and dissemination of all the campaigns that will be carried out during this year, in terms of blood donation.
Hand in hand with the ICHH, Adeje carried out numerous actions in different areas. In this sense, it is worth highlighting the one aimed at the student group of primary, secondary, PFAE, in which more than 820 people participated. There was also the collaboration of the taxi collective, who make the campaign visible in the cooperative’s vehicles.
