SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 4. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Natural Environment Management area, has proceeded to reopen the El Contador recreational area, in Arico, once the access problems of the roads that lead to the area have been resolved.
The councilor of the area, Isabel García, pointed out that after the fine-tuning that has been done in this space, it is once again open and available for use in the 18 installed stoves and 22 tables.
The insular Natural Environment Management area has carried out restoration and improvement works in the recreational area and while it was closed, among other reasons due to access problems, “the guards came by every two weeks to do maintenance on the bathrooms, water for the birds, cleaning garbage, etcetera”, indicated the counselor.
Among the works carried out, weeds were cleared and general maintenance, repair of stove grills, drains, tables and benches were repaired, as well as repair and replacement of damaged furniture in the toilets, change of two locks, two cisterns and sanitary material.
Among other possibilities, this recreational area is found in the course of the PR TF 86, a hiking proposal of about 10 km that starts from Arico Nuevo, goes to La Degollada and towards the Calzadas de la Sabinita. Leave behind houses and orchards, to ascend the Lomo de Tamadaya, where you will pass by the Casas de Tamadaya, the area of Los Colorados and the house of Arenas de Tenesco. Then it borders the Salto de las Yedras waterfall, crosses the Barranco del Hornito and La Jarreta. Finally, it passes through the Casas del Contador to end up in the El Contador Recreational Area.
