La Gesta Park, the largest space of its kind available in the Canary Islands, opened this afternoon in Tenerife, to the delight of the more than 400 children who will be able to pass through its facilities every day.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council already announced that it is the largest park in Tenerife, with a capacity to accommodate 480 boys and girls, with twenty games and attractions, including boats, rowboats, swings, slides, climbing nets, bars, hammocks and even a telescope!
In addition the La Gesta Park It will also serve for children to learn in a fun way the Gesta of July 25, one of the most outstanding events in the history of Santa Cruz.
The mayor of the capital, José Manuel Bermúdez, has argued that this park “is a debt we owed to the Gesta of July 25, which supports a proposal by the city’s official chronicler, Luis Cola Benítez, since he considered it to be a very fun way to teach the history of Santa Cruz and one of its most outstanding events” and adds that “so this Monday will be a day to add to the milestones of this city, with a theme children’s park that can be visited by schools, individuals and visitors, where a fundamental part of the idiosyncrasy and value of the chicharrera population will be known a little more”.
