The mayor of the capital, José Manuel Bermúdez, has argued that this park “is a debt we owed to the Gesta of July 25, which supports a proposal by the city’s official chronicler, Luis Cola Benítez, since he considered it to be a very fun way to teach the history of Santa Cruz and one of its most outstanding events” and adds that “so this Monday will be a day to add to the milestones of this city, with a theme children’s park that can be visited by schools, individuals and visitors, where a fundamental part of the idiosyncrasy and value of the chicharrera population will be known a little more”.
