The paralysis in Second: eight teams, without signings

An unusual market. Patience makes the difference in the new Wall Street of the ball. UD has a factor that gives it an advantage over the rest of the contenders for a place in the privileged positions. Ascending is already a matter of resistance. No hurry. With the backbone tied and showing contractual bond –the Jonathan Viera (2026), Kirian Rodríguez (2023), Eric Curbelo (2024), Valles (2024), Saúl Coco (2025) and Cardona (2024)–, everything happens to execute efficiently recruiting the nine tank. The one chosen to reach twenty goals under the football parameters of Bastón (Oviedo) or Stuani (Girona).

The UD has not completed any movements in the window of this market, which barely accounts for 72 hours and closes at dawn on August 31. Along with the yellows, seven other teams in the silver category make up the market paralysis. They are CD Tenerife, Andorra, CD Lugo, Ponferradina, Sporting de Gijón, Zaragoza and Villarreal B. For their part, those who have remained most active are Málaga CF (four contracts), Deportivo Alavés (3), Burgos (3 ), Cartagena (3), Ibiza (3), Racing de Santander (3), Mirandés (2), Albacete (2), Levante (1), Granada (1), Oviedo (1), Leganés (1), Huesca (1) and Eibar (1).

With four registrations, Pablo Guede’s Málaga is the most active at this start of the market

The goalkeeper Joan Femenías leaves Oviedo and commits himself to Levante UD in one of the star operations. For its part, the Vitorian formation does its homework with names of the category of Carlos Benavídez, Salva Sevilla or Alkain, who arrives from the Real Sociedad B subsidiary.

Yann Bodiger lands at Granada and Ríos Reina at Eibar. For their part, Manolo Reina, Calero, Crettaz and Romero make up the list of registrations of the new Málaga, to which is also added an agreement in principle by Adrián – who will do the preseason.

Challenges for Pepper

One of the main aspects to be improved by Pimienta’s training is to bury the vieradependencia. The impact of the Messiah in the yellow game was devastating with fourteen goals and the label of best wicker in Second.

He scored six goals in the last six days of the competition in the historic takeoff towards promotion. He had to retire injured against Tenerife in the second leg of the playoff semifinals after chaining 20 consecutive games. At 32 years old, with 68 goals in 224 official duels, the ’21’ finally faces a full preseason in yellow. Since the summer of 2017, with physical training in the south of the island and under the command of Manolo Márquez – they stayed at the Cordial Mogán and conquered the Carranza – the attacker has not completed a one-month set-up with UD.

Vitolo and Marc, already closed

Although UD Las Palmas has not made the arrivals of Víctor Machín Vitolo and Marc Cardona official, both signings are already closed for next year, the first on loan from Atlético de Madrid and the second from CA Osasuna. The Gran Canarian, in fact, has trained several times during the month of June at the Barranco Seco facilities, however, he will not join the group until one or two weeks later, since he underwent an arthroscopy, planned by his former knee operation, a few days ago. The Catalan, for his part, will start with the rest in eight days, when he starts the new 2022-23 project. | LP/DLP
