an agent of the Arona Local Police has been removed from the body, after being opened a week ago a file of suspension of employment and salary by the City hallafter being accused by a court in Arona of continued fraud, extortion, bribery and falsehood in public documents.

The agent investigated as a result of the complaint of a foreign citizen is released on bail, with the obligation to appear every 15 days in court, which withdrew her passport.

Supposedly, the agent was dedicated to collecting economic amounts in cash from young tourists who would be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to what was announced yesterday by Televisión Canaria, under the pretext of not drawing up a sanction, thus achieving undue charges. One of these tourists was the one who filed the complaint at the Town Hall itself and from there it was transferred to the police court and to the General Directorate of Security of the Government of the Canary Islands.

New Local Police of Arona denounced

A few months ago, the arrest of another local police officer from Arona for Social Security fraud also made headlines. He was arrested in February by the Economic and Fiscal Crime Unit (UDEF) who arrived from Madrid as the alleged perpetrator of crimes such as theft of assets, against Social Security and fraud. The actions of the officials occurred as a result of the alleged illegal activity of the individual with various companies, with offices in several municipalities of Tenerife and Juan Bravo street, in Madrid.

The UDEF investigators arrested the municipal agent, identified as Iván JL, as well as a direct relative, who had various complaints, both from former workers and from clients who felt cheated for paying for services that were not performed. Their corporate objective was the purchase-sale, acquisition, possession and disposal of securities, as well as the purchase-sale, intermediation of rustic and urban properties, as well as housing development.
