SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 1 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports this Friday that since the last data update last Tuesday, 1,881 new positives in COVID-19 have been registered in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group at that is followed up after the acute phase of the pandemic has passed.
Therefore, the accumulated number of coronavirus cases among this group amounts to 79,386 people in the Canary Islands.
Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group continues to rise and after 14 days stands at 1,233.36 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and after 7 days at 677.96.
Currently, in the archipelago there are 372 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 17 are in the ICU and the rest, 355, on the ward, in such a way that in the last week the increase in hospitalization has grown by 20.4%.
On the other hand, in the last three days there have been 12 deaths, nine reported in Gran Canaria and three in Tenerife.
All the people, aged between 68 and 95 years, had previous pathologies and were hospitalized.
