The Counselor for Management of the Natural Environment of the Council of Tenerife, Elizabeth Garciaannounced this Friday the opening of a disciplinary file against a footwear brand after becoming aware of the recording of an audiovisual piece in which several people walk off the trails in a special protection zone on the Chinyero Special Nature Reserve.
García indicates in a note that “the public use of natural spaces protected island Tenerife this subject to regulations which includes the authorization or denial of the same of certain activities and transit through them, and this regulation apply forcefullya, of course, uses that contravene the plans established in each of the protected natural spaces are not authorized”.
According to the counselor, “This activity has never been authorized and there is no record of any request for itso a sanctioning file will be opened as indicated by the regulations”.
García has made it clear that they were not aware of this filming and “of course it is not authorized at any point”, while stressing that the space management plan makes it explicit that it is the transit of people outside the established trails is prohibitedexcept for reasons of surveillance, technical management, emergency or force majeure.
Thus, he assured that “once the service has been made aware of what happened, the appropriate sanctioning measures will be taken.”
