After two years of waiting, the municipality of Tacoronte recovers its traditional Pilgrimage in honor of San Isidro Labrador. It will be next Sunday, July 3, when the streets of Tacorontera will relive a day dedicated to the Canarian festival, where the music of the parrandas and the carts will be the protagonists.

With the weather report very present throughout this week, from the Department of Culture, Commerce and Festivals they have been aware of the evolution of the weather to adapt the development of the program of events to inclement weather. “It seems that on Sunday the rain gives us a break and we can enjoy a pilgrimage that we really want. Tacoronte is a municipality that lives traditions intensely and for the neighbors, it will be a big day to which all those who want to participate are invited”, expressed the Councilor for Culture, Commerce and Festivals, Sandra Izquierdo, after the meeting with the carters. A meeting in which the technicians and the councilor of the area, Julio Navarro, were informed of the Security plan for the smooth running of the party.

At 12:00 noon on Sunday, the Holy Mass will take place, sung by the Guarache Folkloric Group, and then the pilgrimage will begin along the usual route, from the Santa Catalina Church to El Calvario (La Alhóndiga), and back. At 4:30 p.m., popular festival in the Plaza de la Iglesia Santa Catalina by the Zona 7 Orchestra.

Although the weather has given a truce for Sunday, it should be noted that, after analyzing the last weather report published by the State Meteorological Agency, the councilor Sandra Izquierdo and the mayor of the municipality, José Daniel Díaz, made the decision to postpone their popular Magician’s Ball, scheduled for Friday, July 1, the following Friday, July 8, due to the forecast of rain that could tarnish this event held outdoors. For the same reason, the event of the VIII Tacoronte Regional Dance and Folklore Show has been relocated, next Saturday, July 2, to the “Edmundo Gil” cultural and sports center, in La Caridad, so that the possible rain does not spoil this day.
