the company of Bird scooters has announced the beginning of its operations in Santa Cruz. The company, present in cities such as Madrid, Malaga, Alcalá de Henares or Talavera de la Reina, informs that it has been selected to provide a safe and environmentally friendly micromobility service in the city.
The company has deployed, since last Monday, 350 scooters. The model that will provide the service will be the Bird Three, the latest developed by the company, and which has a speed limit set at 25 km/h.
“It has been a pleasure collaborating with the City Hall of Santa Cruz to offer a safe and environmentally friendly mobility alternative, both to the citizens of the town and its visitors”, highlights Javier Aparicio, Head of Government Relations and Communication of Bird for Spain.
“We are convinced that this year of service will show both the chicharreros and the City Council that this model is effective and useful for the city.” The council has enabled 71 mandatory parking points. On the other hand, scooters will not be able to access pedestrian streets and the use of a helmet is recommended. They also incorporate a system that detects when they circulate on the sidewalks, in which case the scooter will stop.
