
Canary Islands adds a new case of monkey pox and study two others. The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government counts a new case and two under study, one probable and another suspect, due to a possible diagnosis of monkeypox since Friday. This means that there is a total since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert 41 confirmed casesof which 29 were detected in Gran Canaria and 12 in Tenerife.
All cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up by Primary Care.
Thus, the confirmed and notified cases in Canary Islands from the beginning of the alert and until today they are as follows:
- 41 confirmed cases29 in Gran Canaria and 12 in Tenerife.
- a likely casepending confirmation, notified in Gran Canaria.
- a suspicious casepending confirmation, registered in Gran Canaria.
The protocol of the Ministry of Health classify cases between probable and suspecteds depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if he or she only presents clinical criteria and in this case is considered a suspected case.
