The young Iriome Cáceres disappears again days after being located in Tenerife

The young Iriome Cáceres, 16, has disappeared again in Tenerife after being located days ago in good health.

This time they have activated the alert in the National Center for the Disappeared (CNDES), in addition, SOS Disappeared is again mobilized to search for this minor.

Iriome is of normal build, weighs 50 kilos and is 1.60 meters tall, her eyes are brown. She has long black hair, the last time she was seen, she was wearing brown shorts, a white t-shirt and All Star sneakers.

After reporting that they are looking for Iriome in Tenerife, from the Anar Foundation they ask people who have any information about her whereabouts to contact them through the Civil Guard, calling 062.

The annual report of missing persons, prepared by the CNDES with data corresponding to 2021, confirmed that the Canary Islands lead the disappearances in Spain, with 4,240 of the 22,285 complaints registered throughout the country, even above autonomous communities with more populations, such as Andalusia ( 3,316), Catalonia (3,164) or Madrid (2,205).

This data does not surprise the coordinator of the association SOS Disappeared in the Archipelago, Santiago Martín. “For some time we have warned that we are on the rise and, therefore, an analysis is needed to identify what the problem is and to be able to act accordingly.”

Las Palmas was the province with the highest number of complaints filed, with 3,446, of which almost 90% corresponded to young people between 13 and 17 years old, well above the national average. For its part, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 774 people disappeared, 551 of them minors. These indicators worry the organization of SOS Disappeared.

Martín points out that in the field of minors who live with their parents, the causes that motivate them to be absent are usually associated with problems of a social nature. He is also struck by the escapes of minors from state-protected centers. “We must bear in mind that there is an uptick in complaints and active cases.”
