The improvement and asphalting work on the TF-5 is focused, from Sunday and until Friday, on extending the wearing course on the trunk of the road between kilometer points 51 and 39.5, from La Guancha to Los Realejos. In parallel, they will pave the La Orotava interchange, exit 33, being able to access this municipality through exits 32 and 34.
The Councilor for Roads of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Enrique Arriaga, explains that with these works that have been carried out since last year, nearly 50 kilometers of this road have been rehabilitated throughout 13 municipalities.
With an investment of 12,206,846 euros, the counselor details that given the degradation that this high-capacity road presented, through which an average of 110,000 vehicles circulate, “rehabilitation and resurfacing is a necessity to be able to increase road safety in the TF-5 and contribute to reducing the number of claims registered in it».
The works will be carried out between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and in this rehabilitation, 50% of the pavement is reused, which means a lower consumption of natural resources and the reduction of waste generated, turning it into one more work sustainable and environmentally friendly.
