The Animalist Party Against Animal Abuse (PACMA) has denounced the Bathing Goats in the Sea held during the morning of this Friday, June 24, in the Tenerife municipality of Cross port.
It is a centuries-old ritual that, according to PACMA, causes the animals “great stress and panic when they are forced to enter the water and drown.” “They scream, throw and try to flee,” adds the formation in a message published just a few minutes ago on Instagram.
The video broadcast on the social network was recorded this morning by the founder of the Orión Animal Rescue Brigade, Christ Gilwho is also provincial coordinator of PACMA.
“The natural environment of these animals is not the sea,” the party specifies in the message, which also accuses the Puerto de la Cruz City Council of “allowing and promoting these rites for years despite the discomfort of the animals.”
