The Governing Plan for Use and Management (PRUG) of the Teide National Park, on public display until July 22, featured in part of the Cabildo plenary session. The insular director of Support for the President, Aarón Afonso, assured that the institution has presented “the pertinent allegations”, while the opposition asked for a greater consensus with the citizens and the groups.
Afonso insisted that they have presented the corrections to the document “that correspond.” Meanwhile, Valentín González (PP) read a report from Tourism of Tenerife (entity of the Cabildo) where it is stated that the PRUG draft may be null and void because the environmental assessment has not been carried out.
Afonso did not comment on this because “it is up to the technicians.” He maintained a position similar to that of regional councilor Valbuena, which can be summed up in one sentence: “There will be no PRUG without an agreement.”
