SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 24. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The National Police has prevented the suicide of a 24-year-old Irish tourist who threatened to throw himself off the seventh floor of a hotel in the municipality of Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, managing to reduce him before he carried out his intentions.
The agents of the National Police were made aware by a call to 091 in which it was alerted that apparently a young man was threatening to commit suicide. They immediately went to the place, finding two women, the young man’s mother and romantic partner, and an absolutely messy room.
After interviewing several witnesses from the plant, all English-speaking, they told them that they had heard a strong argument and struggle in the room.
At that time, the young man was lying on the balcony of the lower floor, where a security guard was trying to prevent the individual from falling. Thus, the police officers went down hypso facto to the lower floor, requested reinforcements and managed, not without effort and applying the minimum necessary force, to subdue the man, who was especially hyperactive and violent.
Finally, he was transferred to a hospital in the area to be treated and guarded.
