SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 24. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The first night of Carnival dances in the streets of Santa Cruz de Tenerife ended with the assistance of eight people by the Carnival security and emergency device.
This first festive day began with the parade of the Burial of the Sardine entourage, at its end the musical performances began at different points of the carnival ring of the capital of Tenerife. Most of the people who attended this first carnival day gathered next to the stages and points with authorized music.
Although the emergency device was sized to respond to any contingency, it was only necessary to attend to eight people; five men and three women for various reasons. Half of those assisted required attention due to alcohol poisoning, although without major complications. One of those affected by this symptomatology is a minor
Two other people suffered injuries as a result of falls, being treated at the medical post located in the facilities of the Hospital del Carnaval. If it was necessary to refer a man, a member of a carnival group, to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria due to cardiological problems.
Within this preventive and health device, a team works for the care of the youngest managed by the Spanish Red Cross, in which psychologists and social workers come together who, in coordination with the Local Police unit attached to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, identify these young people and notify their legal guardians.
At Punto Violeta, which is installed these days in the Carnival Hospital, only three people, two women and one man, were given advice and information, although they did not require assistance from the personnel assigned to this service.
Regarding police work, the night presented no complications, although the Santacrucero City Council had to make this device compatible with the preventive operation deployed by the municipality to attend to the celebration of the San Juan bonfires. Within the preventive plot, the Group of Canine Guides of the Local Police raised a dozen records last night for the possession and/or consumption of narcotic substances.
The Carnival Hospital will start its work again this afternoon to face the development of the Carnival Parade, from 7:00 p.m. the entire operation will be at their posts, before the Local Police will review the different traffic modifications necessary for this act. Subsequently, the device will deal with security and emergency care for the planned dances.
