SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 24. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Majada Marcial Integrated Vocational Training Center (CIFP) (Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura) has obtained first place in the Entrepreneurship Awards for Vocational Training and Professional Teaching of Plastic Arts and Design of the Canary Islands for the 2021-22 academic year, convened by the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The award ceremony for the sixth edition of this initiative was held this week at the CIFP San Cristóbal facilities (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria). The winning project, ‘Urban Green’, focuses on the exploitation of urban gardens for rent with a playful and educational approach, and aims to connect the city with nature.
In second place, the CIFP César Manrique has been awarded with ‘Vida Gym’, an action that seeks to take advantage of new technologies by offering online classes of exercise routines for people with reduced mobility together with home visits by physiotherapists, and the third position It corresponded to CIFP San Cristóbal for “FarmBotics”, which proposes the automation of farms in the Canary Islands through drones and industrial land robots.
Among the 19 educational centers participating in this call were selected by the technical commission to go to the final phase and defend their proposals, in addition to the three aforementioned centers, the Secondary Education Institute (IES) El Rincón, with the initiative ‘Iotland’ and the CIFP Zonzamas, with ‘Electrican SL’.
The jury was made up of five people representing the Vice-Ministry of Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, members of the business sector specialized in entrepreneurship, the Department of Business Management of the University of La Laguna and technical staff of the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Adult Education.
The General Director of Vocational Training, Rosario Gañán, congratulated the recognized and participating centers and initiatives in this edition, and highlighted the innovation and creativity in each of the projects presented. Likewise, she encouraged them to continue working in this line.
